If you’re wondering when is the best time to book all-inclusive trips, there is one thing to keep in mind as you sit down to do some research: demand.
Like all great capitalistic systems, the greater the demand, the higher the price. Ask yourself when is the lowest demand for airfare and when is the lowest demand for tourists going to a resort? According to a study done by Hopper.com’s Consumer Airfare Index, seasons like the start of the school year and holidays all influence the price of flights. They, in turn, affect the price of your overall package.

Right After the Holidays
The month of January is a great time to book trips. Why? Because everyone is tired of partying and celebrating. This is also when schools start back up for K-12 kids and parents must head back to work. College students are in the middle of their winter break as well and most have bought round trip tickets. Looking for and buying flights at this time for a late winter or early spring vacation is ideal.
End of August
There is no magic date in August to book flights, but the month in general, especially at its end, is a good time to buy your trip. People are returning from summer vacation, schools have started or are just about to start, and the next big travel event isn’t until Thanksgiving. If your resort is in the Caribbean, remember that hurricane season goes into October. Make your purchase in August and you just might get a great deal on both the airfare and the hotel!
The great deals don’t end on August 31st! Airfare prices continue to drop through September and October. There simply isn’t a lot of demand for vacations during these months. Between college students and families with kids under the age of 18, people are busy with school and work. This can also be a good time to book a place to go during the Christmas holidays. It’s still too early for most people to be thinking about how and where they’re spending the holidays, so snag the good deals before everyone else does!
Between Thanksgiving and Dec. 15
You still have one more chance to get a good deal after Thanksgiving and before December 15th. People are just returning home from spending time with family and shopping, so they’re not thinking about another trip… yet. Set a reminder on your calendar to start shopping for deals, you may even get lucky and stumble across a Black Friday or Cyber Monday travel deal.
Three Weeks Out
According to Expedia Group and Airlines Reporting Corporation’s 2019 Travel Pricing Outlook report, three weeks before your departure date is the best time to book a flight. If you wait until the weekend, you can get 20% or more in savings from the airfare price. This is a great way to save on the plane ticket if your all inclusive-resort doesn’t include the flight there and back. You’ve already got a great deal on the hotel, don’t waste all the money you just saved on paying too much for your flight.
